Community Hour
What is the Community Hour?
The Community Hour is our monthly, open online meeting for the djehuty community. It is a relaxed space to:
- hear about recent developments and upcoming work,
- discuss community contributions and feature requests,
- ask questions and share feedback and ideas,
- meet other users, contributors and repository managers.
Everyone is welcome: users, contributors, developers, repository administrators, or simply the curious. You don’t need to be an expert or to speak; listening in is perfectly fine.
When and how to join
We meet every last Wednesday of the month, 3–4 PM Amsterdam time (CET/CEST), online on Google Meet: https://meet.google.com/zbt-mvxe-feq
Exact dates are in the calendar.
Add the next meeting to your calendar
Just want this one on your calendar? Use the Add to calendar button on the home page. It adds a single event straight into your normal calendar, the same as any other meeting invite — nothing separate to manage.
Subscribe to every Community Hour
Come regularly? Subscribe once and every future Community Hour appears automatically, including changes, with nothing to add by hand.
A subscription always shows up as its own calendar (e.g. “djehuty Community Hour”) rather than merging into your main one. That’s how calendar subscriptions work, not something particular to this feed — it’s what lets your calendar app know to keep it updated.
- Apple Calendar, and most Google Calendars: Click
Subscribebelow — it should open your calendar app directly. - Outlook (web, new Outlook, or classic desktop): Click
Copy link, then in Outlook go to Add calendar → Subscribe from web (classic desktop: Open Calendar → From Internet..), paste the link, and select Import/Subscribe. Subscribebutton doesn’t do anything in your browser?: clickCopy linkand paste it into your calendar app’s “subscribe by URL” option manually.
New meetings appear in this feed automatically as they’re scheduled — calendar apps typically re-check it about once a day.
What to expect
A typical Community Hour follows this outline:
- Welcome and short introductions
- Project updates: recent releases and ongoing development
- Community topics: items from the agenda, including contributions and feature requests
- Open discussion and any other business
- Wrap-up: summary of actions and the date of the next meeting
We follow the djehuty Code of Conduct in every meeting.
Add a point to the agenda
Do you want the community to discuss something? Anyone can propose an agenda item.
- Open an issue in the community repository, titled “Agenda: your topic”.
- Briefly describe the topic, why it matters, and how much time you think you need.
- Add links to related issues, discussions or documents.
- Submit it before the meeting, ideally at least a few days ahead, so the organisers can plan the agenda.
Can’t attend live? Add your item anyway and say so in the description. We will discuss it and share the outcome in the meeting notes.
Add a point to the agenda
Want the community to discuss something? Add it directly to the Rolling Notes document under the agenda for the next meeting — no approval needed, just add your topic in a line or two, ideally a few days before the meeting so there’s time to plan around it.
Can’t attend live? Add your item anyway and check the meeting notes afterwards for the outcome.
Meeting notes
We publish notes after each Community Hour, including the topics discussed, decisions taken and follow-up actions. Notes from all past meetings are listed below.
